HDS LEAGUE RULES
-
You are the manager of your team and have £300m available to spend, which
you must not exceed.
-
From the lists you pick a goalkeeper and a defence. These must not be the
same team.
-
You then pick six attackers. You are not allowed more than three from the
same team, however, if transfers in the real world occur after the league
starts which causes this then this will be allowable. NB. You must pick six
attackers.
-
From the goals conceded and scored over the course of a weekend by the real
players and teams your team performs as follows:
-
The total number of goals conceded by your keeper and defence added together
is the number of goals conceded that weekend by your team.
-
The total number of goals scored by your strikers is the total number of
goals scored by your team that weekend.
-
If you score more than you concede, then you win and are awarded three
points.
-
If you concede more than you score, then you lose and receive no points.
-
If your goals conceded and scored are the same, then it is a draw, and you
receive one point.
-
Goal difference is also taken into consideration for the purpose of the
league standings.
-
A match will be played whenever a full Premier League fixture list is played
wherever possible, but if a team in the real league plays twice over the
weekend, then it is the result of the first game that counts for this
competition. (ie. Full fixtures played on a Saturday and a team plays again
on Monday - the Saturday games count for scoring purposes). In the event of
a coronavirus, meaning fixtures are caught up over a short period, Honest
Dave will decide when the league fixtures are run, sticking as close to the
original plan as possible.
-
Throughout the season there may be the odd weekend where there are a lot of
postponements. It will then be up to Honest Dave to decide whether there
are enough teams left playing to warrant running the league that week (I
usually use ten teames playing as a yardstick). This
means that there may be the odd void weekend, but not many as the league
will be run whenever possible, including mid-week if there is sufficient
teams playing.
-
Alternatively, there may be extra weekends or groups of games at times such
as bank holidays and full/virtually full midweek fixtures. The league will
be run on those occasions at the discretion of Honest Dave, again using ten
teams as a rule of thumb. (e.g. In the
early weeks of the season there's usually an almost full Premier League
fixture list with some teams playing European games. Both sets of games
will count for scoring purposes if there are enough teams playing to run the
league).
-
Your first team selections will be valid until the end of December. You
will then be given an updated list of prices and will be allowed to make
team changes. So don’t worry if your original choices don’t work out, you
get a second chance to get it right.
HDS League Rules - Part 2
You are allowed to make changes to your team as outlined below.
You can change either your keeper or defence, not both.
You can change up to a maximum of three of your strikers. NB. You must still be
left with six attackers.
The players you are dropping are deducted using the “sell at” price.
The players you are adding to the team are purchased using the “buy at” price.
The players you have retained hold their original value which is also the “sell
at” price.
You are again not allowed to have more than three strikers from the same
real-life team. Subsequent transfers in real life will not affect this rule,
however.
The total value of the retained players added to the newly purchased players
must not exceed £300m
Your amendments must be received by the notified closing date. If not, it will be assumed that you are not making any changes and
your original team will carry on to the second part of the season. NB. If
an amended entry is received in the last few days of the transfer window and is
then subsequently found to be in breach of any of these rules I'll be forced to
use the team from of the first half of the season as I won't have time to chase
it up with you. So please be careful with your amended selections. During
a winter break where the Premier League fixtures are split over several days a
full set of fixtures over those days will count as one in this league.
